Carrier oils (always dilute)
Essential oils are concentrated โ never apply them neat. Dilute in one of these carriers before any skin or scalp use; our blend builder calculates the exact carrier amount for your bottle and target dilution.
Simmondsia chinensis seed oil
A liquid wax ester that mimics sebum; extremely stable, long shelf life, and a clean all-purpose EO dilution base for both skin and scalp.
Squalane
Biomimetic, odorless, non-comedogenic and oxidation-resistant โ the #1 dilution carrier for the face, sensitive and acne-prone skin.
Caprylic/capric triglyceride
Inert, very light, odorless and long-lived โ the workhorse body/roller dilution carrier for essential oils.
Prunus amygdalus dulcis oil
Affordable, gentle emollient high in oleic acid; a general body dilution carrier. Tree-nut allergen โ must be flagged.
Prunus armeniaca kernel oil
Light, fast-absorbing oil good for delicate/mature skin; moderate oxidative stability, so use within the year.
Vitis vinifera seed oil
Light, low-cost, dry-touch oil for oily/combination skin; high polyunsaturated content means a short shelf life โ not for long-life blends.
Rosa canina fruit oil
A tone-and-texture treatment oil rich in linoleic acid; oxidizes quickly, so keep refrigerated and out of long-life blends.
Argania spinosa kernel oil
Non-comedogenic, vitamin-E-rich conditioning oil for skin and hair; stable and long-lived.
Persea gratissima oil
Rich, deeply nourishing oil for very dry skin and hair; heavier and moderately stable โ best blended with a lighter base.
Helianthus annuus seed oil
Light, low-comedogenic, widely available; choose the high-oleic grade for better stability.
Squalane (olive)
Plant-derived squalane; light, stable and a good neutral dilution carrier where sugarcane squalane isn't available.
Ricinus communis seed oil
Thick, glossy hair-and-scalp oil; usually blended (10โ30%) into a lighter base rather than used alone.
Cannabis sativa seed oil
Non-comedogenic, dry-touch oil rich in linoleic acid for oily/acne-prone skin; oxidizes fast โ refrigerate, not for long-life blends.
Cocos nucifera oil
Solid below ~24 ยฐC; a popular pre-wash scalp/hair oil but highly comedogenic โ keep off acne-prone facial skin.
Butyrospermum parkii butter
A solid occlusive butter for balms and seals only โ not a liquid dilution carrier.
Calophyllum inophyllum seed oil
Rich, dark green treatment oil for skin repair; potent and moderately stable โ blend at a low % into a lighter base.
